Slumdog Happiness

I've been a little obsessed. *points at avatar* I konw to alot of people its overhyped but there's a reason why it's popular and why i personally love this movie. It's a slew of things. This caters to alot of my own facets. i'm a ridiculous romantic. I'm a true believer of fate, destiny, luck and serendipity. Not to say that our choices are all predetermined but i do believe that once we make some of our choices in life, we just have somewhere to we're going to end up. It is written. (Smile)

But mostly, i love it because  It's happy. It's horrible and crappy for such a long time but in the end it's happy. All honestly, how many movies are like that nowaday.

I was high on the movie and told a friend and he just tells me it's the cheesiest thing in the world. How the heck are happiness and the exception to the "everything in life SUCKS" rule cheesy?! Everyone in the world suffers but not everyone suffers all the time. There are brief moments when life isn't as crappy as it is. A moment of happiness. It's not cheesy. A time when life isn't horrible isn't cheesy. A time when someone does get what he wants and it's not going to be a magical wish that will go terribly wrong.... that is so far from stupid. Has it really come to the point that unless it's an animated film, happiness in a movie and serendipity is just looked at as ludicrous? That's so... sad....

So no. I refuse to let that be me. I will be happy that thsi movie is heralded by a thousand awards because damn it, i refuse to believe that only movies like in the last 10 years of Best Pictures at the Oscars are recognized when they're about greed, violence, racism, tragic deaths, and mass murder.  Happiness can win out sometimes. The guy gets the girl sometimes... Sometimes "sometimes" is enough.
