Illuminatus is...
- A centuries old "secret society" founded on May 1st, 1776 in what is now modern-day Bavaria.
- A society made up of freethinkers believing in science, reason, and logic.
- A society that does not believe in God, demons, or anything else that cannot be proven by science and reason.
- A society that disapproves of monarchies, the church, and other such "leadership" based on tradition and religion.
- A society that branches out across the world with an incalculable number of members.
- A society that infiltrates and manipulates other groups and world powers in order to obtain his goals.
- A society looking to create a "New World Order". What this new order involves, however, is a tightly kept secret.
Illuminatus is not...
- A satanist. He does not believe in Satan and so he does not worship him.
- Looking to create a single unified church. Most likely he would much rather eliminate the church altogether.
- Hypnotizing you through your favorite Lady Gaga CD. He's far too busy with other, more important things.
- Looking to suppress any scientific advancements that he does not consider "acceptable to his aims". His aim is to "enlighten" people to scientific reason and logic, suppressing scientific advancements would be... well, stupid.
- Ritually sacrificing small children and/or animals in his basement. Once again he does not believe in God or Satan, thus he has no reason to go around performing Satanic rituals.
Illuminatus might have...
- Been (and perhaps is still) involved with the Freemasons.
- Been (and perhaps is still) locked in a long-standing and bitter war with the Catholic Roman Church and other such religious organizations.
