I don't intend this to mean a damn thing except as a request for help. I don't want to ask you for help, but it looks like you'll have to do. You're the only military contact that I have that I think I can trust, and this is bigger than you or I or anything else.

We represent an organization that spans throughout Reial- dedicated to maintaining the delicate balance of our continent. We have been made aware that you wish to assist in this, and have even offered troops to that effect.

It's completely understandable. As to motives, besides a general desire not to have the place that I live blown to tiny pieces or fall from the sky, war isn't good for anyone. The terrorists are cowards, and I detest cowards. Peace is good for business, and I'm keen to defend that possibility of peace.

Your confusion is warranted on a surface level. However, if you'd look deeper into my contracts, you'd see that I've recently begun to sever ties with the Ivonan military, and have ceased being a supplier. After seeing how poorly they've done lately, I no longer wish to work with them. I can't retract everything at once, though, and so must do it slowly.

What is it that you ultimately hope to gain by offering assistance? And what, specifically, are you offering?

This matches my suspicions as well.

[She ponders the question for a moment before saying anything.]

My aim isn't so much to gain as to preserve. Whatever the ultimate goal of Denouement, the rest of the population of Reial will lose, whether their freedom or their lives. I am motivated both by self-preservation and by a desire to preserve the variety of forms of life that our continent and its nearby islands are teeming with. A blow to part is a blow to all, and that is unacceptable.

I offer the assistance, should it be necessary, of a third of Reseune's best--50 to 80 soldiers, depending upon how you count it. They are trained in covert operations as well as the more standard military training, and are among the best on the continent.
