Well I got the job in Miami. After Denver I came back down for 2 weeks to get my guard card and a week at the mall. My 3 days of certification lasted 2 weeks and so Bruno and I are a certified dual purpose team. After my first week of training I drove from Kokomo, IN to home to pick up my moving truck and start my drive to my new home. Driving with two 100 plus pound German Shepherds in the front of the Uhaul was miserable for all of us and I am sure more so for the dogs. I arrived at apartment on Sunday, unloaded my truck, grabbed a couple of hour nap and drove back up to Kokomo for my final week of training. I got in late Sunday night got a little sleep and managed to get almost everything unpacked on Sunday and Monday. I started work Tuesday and it has been crazy. 50 hours in our first week. Some interesting calls. The most interesting was at the car wash where a guy got into the drivers seat of an unoccupied parked car and refused to get out for the car wash people. They called us so a line officer responded with no luck so they called for a Tier II officer and K9. I show up, knock on the window and get no response,so I get Bruno fired up with barking hoping the guy would respond to K9 but no luck. APD shows up and same, no response. The officer opens the door and orders the guy out and still no response so APD grabs the guy and yanks him out and the fight is on. I had Bruno by his harness and he was so worked up during the fight he was on bouncing on his hind legs and barking like crazy. When the guy was finally cuffed up Bruno calmed down and back to being a big teddy bear. Now I am going to enjoy my 3 days off by doing as little as possible.
