Project Update
I usually post information about These Words in this journal, but today I decided to update all info retaining to my solo project, The Duane Michael Project [dmp]. It truly has been a long time coming for all the material to work itself. Ricky and I have started, scrapped, and restarted this studio effort what feels like 100 times, but finally, we are prepared for the next step. Tracking will begin soon and I couldn't be more excited about putting together something special for those who were, are, and will be fans of the acoustic stylings I've grown to love so much. Since this project has always been about taking our time, a decision I've come to realize as pure wisdom, the songs have developed into friends rather than just words on a page. I've watched them grow, fail, conqueror, and develop into individual living creatures...something that if plans had never changed would have never occurred. The instrumentation of this project will as promised be a combination of digital sequences and organic chord progressions. Ricky will be taking the helm of our travels as engineer and co-producer along with adding occasional backing vocals. Felicia Kay Beck will be performing on a track as well. Lavish soundscapes and eloquent vocal work will paint images of life, love, death, and taxes. I couldn't be more excited.
