I'm starting to save money for a studio in the coming months. A lot of what has held me back as a musician has been the inability to actually listen to what I'm playing and see if its working. I've dreamed of having my own studio for quite some time, and now the dream is seeing light at the end of its dreary tunnel. In the past 2 years, I've seen so many things come to pass...just from putting some determined effort behind them that now I know I truly can accomplish whatever it is I set out to do. This studio isn't going to be some state of the art non-sense, rather a well planned out rig that will be expandable and upgradable enough to do what I've always wanted to do. I should have all of my live performance gear by November (a suitable combo amp/ a couple pedals of choice/ a high quality microphone/ ect).
The studio will include a new computer, external hardrive, a firewire mixing console, 2 preamps, cubase or protools recording software, fruityloops studio 6, and of course an assortment of microphones. I'm looking at around a 5,000 dollar purchase, but it will be worth it in the end. No more lamenting over studio time and producers...no more excuses.
My name is Duane. I'm going places.
