okay. Gendo has really big aversions to ... humans. Humanoids! He has trust issues with people due to hilarious abandonment and bullying and... so on and so forth.
He's really excited about the talking animals in camp -- after he finally got over his initial "wtf" because... he loev animals. And he really, really wants to make friends, deep down in his heart. He pretty much has the stance that animals can love in a way that humans could never, and he's really holding on to some bizarre fluffy teenage dream where his pet loev him unconditionally or something. (He's a retard)
Alpha in specific-- he's a little cautious, because... sentience may also mean betrayal. But he really likes how honest Alpha is with him and it means he doesn't have to constantly step on glass. He's got this weird thing in his head right now where he really admires Alpha for being strong!! when stupid things like DUG!! are beating him down. PROJECTION MUCH. But anyway, Gendo would like to talk to Alpha more and be there for him and ... ... making a normal friend, even if he is a dog.
