what's the last thing you learned?
i learned something.
i learned a few somethings, actually.
the first is that i should never get my family involved in solving a problem unless i absolutely have to.
((frantic phone calls + stuck in LA + stranded +dying cell phones + no reception = leave it as an adventure, and leave my family OUT))
the second is that in 1904 an American man named George Eyser won five Olympic medals for gymnastics. Oh yeah, he had a wooden leg!! and i didn't feel like riding my bike to the library today so i drove. pshhh. a wooden leg, i tell you!
the third is when i was listening to dr. laura (that's right, i listen to dr. laura sometimes. what? wanna mess?), she said (about marriage/love/relationship)
"it's not about what's f a i r.
it's about making the other person feel good."
it's not about what's owed to you. it's not about getting even--i'll make you dinner so that you'll clean the dishes or i'll do you a favor that way you can't say no the next time i ask you for one--it's about doing something for someone else so you can please them. that's it. i think that goes beyond marriage or dating and into friendships or co-worker-ships, or whatever ships. be nice for the sake of being nice, not for what you'll get in return.
anyway,
what's the last thing you learned?
