I declared that yesterday that I would study for my upcoming exams, but also take an hour or two to go out, get fresh air, and take pictures. It's kinda sad how few pictures I've been taking lately, so I decided I should put that camera to good use. After all, our figures were plopped down for it (and accessories, and 3-year warranty). Recently, I was shipped a book about improving ones digital photography abilities with simple techniques and guidelines. I havne't had much time to read it, but I'm hoping it will reveal a few pointers!
My journey ytesterday took me to Fallowfield, where there's a small train station (really, it's not much bigger than a couple of high school classrooms). I had never been there before, so I figured I'd check it out. Just as I got there, the train pulled away. Merde! i
It was snowing a bit, and the wind was blowing. But it wasn't cold so long as you were moving around. A snowflake managed to sneak past my lens hood and hit the glass. Now I need a lens cleaning kit!
I fooled around with black and white.
You can see the train station in Google Earth if you head to about 45.299, -75.737. I personally like the snow. I hope we get some thats moist enough to use as construction materials.
From there, I walked for a couple of kilometers looking for signs of civilization (and by that I mean something I could recognize). I eventually got to that point, but I kept wondering if I was walking in the right direction. On one side, there was vast emptiness, the other was houses.
After we got our first snow, I thought it would go away, but it hasn't left. It was raining/snowing/hailing recently, as evicenced by the bus stop ice.
Once I reached civilixation, I could have walked home, but that would have taken another hour at least... and with the wind, it wouldn't have ben too enjoyable. So I took a bus. It's cheating I guess, but i don't care :p
Anyway, back to studying!
