The last part in a three-part miniseries. Enjoy~
It was time to leave Banff. We packed away the tents, grabbed all that belonged to us, said goodbye to these Montreal campers who happened to set up right next to us the day before, and left. Well... we left the campsite, but not Banff.. at least not yet.
This whole Banff trip enabled me to see some of the most spectacular thinigs ever. Like clouds covering mountains.
So, where did we end up? Some place called Johnson's Canyon! There was a bear behind me so i freaked out. Then I realised it was made of wood. Silly me!
The path was absolutely beautiful. I had never seen water so crisp and blue before. To think that it created a huge gap and caves in this land. Water is truly a powerful thing.
It was raining a bit when we were there, keeping us all from being perfectly comfortable.
But the rain didn't really dampen anything.. except the clarity of my pictures. overcast = no light = longer shutter speeds = blurrier! But it gives a neat effect to running water!
I think some people just go crazy when not wearing a plastic bag on their heads while in the rain.
I'm scared out of my boots to try this perilous route. This is right beside a set of bathrooms whose toilets have dual flushing: "Little #1 liquid waste wee wee flush" and "Regular #2 solid waste doo doo flush". I don't make this stuff up!
There was a poor little cloud, just hovering around.
And tall, tall mountains. I might go nuts if I ever make it to Nepal.
Just randonly sitting there was a old school car and gas pump. Why? I have no idea. But I'd love to have a car like that.
Cat and I didn't really feel like going all the wat up to see the waterfalls (we had hiked like mad yesterday, and it was raining), so we headed back to the starting point (where the car and wooden bear are). The scenery here was just awesome. I knew places like this existed, but I never really thought about it before. Deep green, vibrant blue, it's like a kid went crazy with a box of crayons.
Cat and I stood on this bridge, where one of the rungs was loose. We waited for everyone else, and eventually ran into Dan, who had been dropped off before camping started to meet up with friends. It was random.
While waiting, we sat on these roots. They're impressively strong.
Being the crazy person that I am, I got as close to the water as I could, and brought my camera even closer. Luckily I didn't drop it.
It mad ethe water look cool, but I couldn't really see what the picture would look like until after it was taken.
random nature art.
Uyen and I did the trust game the day before I think. She suggested that Jammie and I try it. If we could do it, then anything is possible.
I couldn't do it. I don't know why... I just couldn't concentrate on not trying to save myself. We tried where my feet were braced on a curb, but then Jammie was too high and she almost didn't catch me!
After yet another brwon bag lunch and a bus ride that took longer than expected, we made it into Drumheller. We went to the Tyrell Museum of stuff. Here, the world was spinning.
Then I found a friend! Isn't he cute?
Upon looking around more, I found a prehistoric koopa troopa!
Behind glass is a lab where experts analyse artifacts and clean fossils and things like that. It looks fairly complex.
Friend or Foe? That was a really weird television show. But for now, we have the king of carnivvores staring right at me!
This one's going to try out for Canadian Idol. I'd vote for him.. or her.
shhh it's a shadow!
I walked through a wormhole that transported me to the precambrian era... it was a scary time! Nobody back then had internet.
THe museum was massive, but we really didn't have enough time to look around and see everything. We saw him though.
And fish. The quesiton is... are they real?
Georges popped his head out and posed with this chasmosaurus.
Tyrell, the guy who did things so important that a dinosaur museum is named after him.
Outside the museum, things are pretty cool as well.
Georges found himself in a sticky situation!
Everyone watched in horroe.. or laughter, I can't tell.
I don't think this guy is very happy to learn that a monkey was hanging off his tail.
If he thinks I'm one of him, he won't eat me, right? Heck maybe he'll share his next meal :O I'll brign the A1 sauce.
It was Ray's birthday (for real). SHe didn't get cake because she left for McDonalds (for ice cream) before it could be served to her. She really wanted some of this meat loer's pizza.
Fenge and Shirley are happy. WE're finally heading home for real. Vraiment vrai!
The ground is flattening out. We must be close.
Very close.
If you really want to see more pictures (and hi res ones), you can check them out at
Yahoo Photos. My folders are Ben May, Ben June, Ben June 2, and Ben Banff. But in total, i took over 1100 pictures while in Saskatoon/Banff... not all of them are here, either.
