Yo, homie! I completely get where you're coming from. I have one friend who is otherwise intelligent, but for whatever reason is blighted with the stupidity of Creationism. I seriously don't get how you come upon that as correct, but I suspect they feel the same about us.
IMO, Christians bitch and try to convert, but are pretty much seen as batfuck crazy by those of age. You could argue that they've had an adverse affect on the gov't, but if you seriously think they wouldn't've found a different scapegoat for their fucked-upness then you're as dense as they. Anyways, back on topic. Both sides try to change the other's mind, with it rarely working. The part that bothers me is when they try to pass off faith as fact. If you want to ignore the facts and go with your gut, fine all the more power to ya, but don't try to argue with me on matters of science. While Darwinnian logic may be flawed, it's still the most probable cause for why things are the way they are. And intelligent design? Don't make me fucking laugh. It's just another case of scientists saying, "well, we don't know exactly WHY the earth rotates around the sun, but we know it does" which equates to these psychos as, "the sun revolves around the earth!" Seriously, you can say that most current scientific evidence POINTS to an intelligent designer, but that's just a matter of technicality as man does not yet understand why such diverse and complex beings would come into existance by random. Hell, I Unintelligent Design is pointed at as being just as strong a possibility (aka, a "being" unconsciously creating life).
Basically, don't argue with me on points of science unless you have facts to back yourself up with (and I don't mean any of this, "in the early 1900's, carbon dating was flawed so it must ALL be wrong" crap).
