The title of this entry is a quote from one of the students in my last morning class, who uttered it during a presentation in which she played the role of a realtor trying to sell a house to a couple who wanted to become homeowners. When she made them a really good deal and the husband said he wanted to think about it, she switched to the hard sell

Also, if you want to experience really great video game writing, I'd strongly recommend the Witcher 3. The games are fairly stand alone-ish, but having played 2 (1 was PC only), I have been running into lots of returning NPCs. I was very, very underwhelmed by DAI-- especially the endless fetch quests-- and had unplugged my xbone since January till May 19th. The Witcher has quests & NPCs that are more layered and interesting than anything I've seen Bioware do in a long time.
Plus, as the incredibly rare videogame company that treats its audience well, I encourage everyone to support them. After all, how many game companies not only refuse to use DRM, they actually make fun of it via in game jokes. Plus, when CDProjekt Red does day 1 DLC, they give it (and 7 more weeks of DLC) away for free. So far, that's an alternate outfit, 2 sets of armor, a quest, horse gear, & a bunch of sweet looking crossbows with 10 more pieces coming.
They aren't charging for anything until they release proper expansion length (10-15 hours worth) stuff this fall. The second game was similar-- the released a bunch of new quests for free to everyone on PC. And once the game was ported to the 360, it included all bonus quests, a map, an actual instruction manual (so rare these days), and an almost 100 page long walkthrough/guide book as the standard edition. Witcher 3 has a similar package with a bunch of stuff-- no walk through though, but since it would probably have to be 500 pages to cover how enormous the game is, I can understand leaving that out.
I am glad to have it to occupy my mind & time lately as I have had numerous annoyances.
1. I developed terrible tooth pain almost 2 weeks ago that eventually led to an emergency root canal. During said root canal, drilling through the back of the crown same tooth had led to the crown cracking, so I will need to get a new crown soon. I don't recommend root canals, although if you were in the type of pain I was (like not being able to eat or sleep) it was necessary.
2. My computer went out during one of the many thunderstorms of May. The power flickered for only a sec-- and the storm had barely started-- but my power supply got zapped apparently. After having that repaired & getting my PC back, a week later I had an operating system error. So I took it back to our computer guy & he said wouldn't charge me anything for it but I have been computer-less for 2 out of the last 3 weeks.
3. My car's check engine light keeps going on & off. It is related to my speedometer which has an intermittent failure. I am hopeful that Brandon might be able to help with it. Unfortunately, there is also the fact that my transmission is worn-- thankfully not completely worn out yet. I am hoping that I can keep it going for awhile, and as few miles as I put on my car, that may be doable.
Now that summer is here, I had to trim my enormous beard back to a very short beard. Despite my disgust with heat, I am looking forward to taking Cady swimming.
That's about all for now. Hope your summer starts out better than mine has.
