But it has! My Livejournal has surpassed the girliness that I once held, and is at a near-blinding level of sunshine, rainbows and unicorns! *insert maniacal laughter here*
Oh yeah, and I know that the scrolling is all laggy and weird, that's because of the transparancy effect. *shrugs*
Anyway, it's been almost half a year, and even the people who live mere minutes from me havn't heard much news from my hermetic lifestyle, so I suppose I should appear for once and let everyone know that I'm still alive and all that good stuff.
First, boring stuff that I don't care to elaborate on. No, I didn't ever find a job, I gave up around April I think. Yes, I did finally quit FFXI. I have come to the conclusion that MMORPG's suck unless you play on a private server with friends. Normal servers are overrun by idiots, real-money-traders, and GM's who don't give a damn. And if you're not playing with friends, what's the point? Go play a single-player RPG :P Le sigh~
Anyways, so if I never got a job, then what the hell am I doing, right? Getting ready to go back to school. I'm all-clear to attend Hallmark Institute of Photography this September, and the only thing left to get back into shape is my random-take-pictures-of-everything-that-moves skill. I'm gonna be really rusty at that, thanks to being too lazy to leave the house most of the time. Curse you summer humidity! I did manage to find an apartment, and there's gonna be like 8 other students from Hallmark there, so my lack of motor vehicle shouldn't be a problem. I would've been able to take my Mom's car (Since I drive it most of the time anyway) but no way in hell would that thing survive a Massachusetts winter. So I'll just tough it out until I gradumacate and get a job, then I can go get that VW Beetle I've been fancying.
Speaking of which, in early June I took a trip up to the school itself to check out the area and find an apartment (as I hadn't at the time XD) I got a tour of the buildings from one of the staff, and while it was much smaller than I anticipated (then again, there are only like 200 students, so I was overestimating to begin with), it was also really nice, with cushy chairs and well-but-not-overly-lit rooms. Though everything there is Macs...which I already knew...but it's still depressing. I needed to check my email because there was a guy I would potentially room with, so I spen 5min trying to figure out how to turn on one of the Macs in the lobby ~_~ Ah well, I'll just spend the first few weeks using my laptop for editing until I understand how to use those alien devices. Other than that, the area is nice too, it almost reminded me of the part of the town up on the hill in 'Whipsers of the Heart' (Studio Ghibli). I'm still not exactly sure what to do for food, but my landlady seems helpful (she reminds me of my Aunt Chris...which is kinda scary actually), so I should survive. I'll even have emergency funds from my loan if I happen to need them since my rent was rather low. ^_^
Since it's that time of year again, it's time to run around and make rediculous costumes so I can bum around the BCC for a weekend and buy overpriced merchandise! That's right, Otakon is coming once again. This year I've only one costume, partially due to laziness, and partially due to my cohort's inadequacy of time-space to create a second outfit. 8th Squad Captain, Kyouraku Shunsui. From Bleach. Suprisingly, his pink jacket of awesome is easier than I expected, but I'm concerned on the sandals and hat. And then there's the hakama...those pleats...I hope I do it right this time... x.x Ah well, all I really need to do is make sure my pants won't fall down, the rest is kinda hard to screw up.
Sir Erik Alexis has featured me in his latest short film, 'The Time-Traveling Pirate'. Unfortunately it isn't finished, and his video camera stopped working, so the project is on hold. Hopefully the last few scenes can be reshot before the end of August, otherwise I'll just have to wait until next summer. Regardless, I think it might be better to leave the film as-is and go back to reshoot it entirely if neccessary next year. Upon rewatching I realized I've been out of acting too long. Accent slipping, fast-talking, popping props. Yeah, it's amusing, but it's nothing that's gonna win a film festival. Even if he doesn't reshoot it, I'll make sure to tone up my skills a tad for the sequal, and not whine so much about the heat.
And by the way, is it just me, or has this Maryland summer been more retardedly humid than usual? >_>
Speaking of Pirates, I was there for the midnight showing of Dead Man's Chest at Muvico, in full Piratical Regalia. Since we were there early, an epic battle erupted with pirates pouring in from the exits and rafters, swinging across the flickering advertisements and clashing swords atop the lower handrails. I myself was able to knock a good dozen men into the stairwell repository before being slammed over the head by a bottled beverage of choice and dragged to my seat, where I then remained unconscious until I finished watching the movie. In regards to that, I thought it was alright. I want to withhold judgement until I see the next movie, as I did with Kill Bill, since it feels incorrect to judge a movie you've only seen but the first half. It did seem less focused on character development and more on story aspects than The Curse of the Black Pearl.
And I'm gonna stop writing here because I got bored. Maybe more later.
