I had my first workshop past Thursday and Friday: How to survive the term of probation.
It's been interesting but it was nothing new. I mean of course it's important to be punctual, to consider the dress code, to be polite and to ask questions and so on. They said more than 50 % of the newbies would get fired during the term of probation because they came late more than once. That's interesting, isn't it?
The first day was only theory. We talked about the points how to behave and what to avoid. One quite interesting point was how to handle any conflicts. It seems some people don't know what to do in such situations. The second day, we made role playings about conflicts. God, I hate role playings. I survived them though. :D
I'm going to draw a conclusion, it was nice, a few things interesting but also a waste of time.
And as a great side note, I had a conversation with an entrepreneur last week. We talked approximately 30 minutes about everything except work related stuff. It's been like when I was talking to a friend and not to a possible new boss. He will call me back to make an appointment for a "real" job interview tomorrow.
