TV meme!

Nov 30, 2009 17:00

This is a TV meme which I have stolen from psycho_lola. I think it's pretty interesting and another way to get to know me better.

Bold all of the tv shows which you have seen at least three episodes of.
Underline the shows you're positive you have seen every single episode of.

The shows are under the cut! )

Wow. You've seen way more shows that I have. I surprised myself, since there isn't a single show which I've seen every ep. xD But I'll list Due South in there sometime soon. And yes, I totally started watching it for Paul Gross (because you know, he's hot. Obviously.) and then came CKR, but I knew about him before. I really loved RayV in the first seasons, like *a lot*, although I never really had a thing for DM.

Believe me, I was surprised as well. :D Maybe there are other shows, which aren't on the list, you have seen completely?

You didn't watch every season of Due South? Now I'm surprised again. There are two hot reasons to watch them all. ;) It was a coincidence that I have seen the pilot of Due South, but I watched every ep till the end. I guess I never saw a movie or show with Callum before DS so this was the first time.

I really loved RayV in the first seasons, like *a lot*, although I never really had a thing for DM.
DM was the perfect guy to play RayV. It's just that he's absolutely not my type so I didn't pay much attention because PG was more tempting. The same happened as CKR showed up in the third season. Paul was history. Still I do like him. :D

Yeah there is one that I've seen completely that isn't in the list, Durham County, a great canadian show which I'm really in love with. It's short but addictive.

For Due South, I just didn't get there yet, but believe me, I will. ;)

Durham County is still on my "what I have to watch" list. I got the first season but had no time to watch it yet. I've heard only good reviews about it.

Great! That's what I wanted to hear. ;)

Oh, Durham County is awesome. I've seen the first season at least four times already. It's dark, and as much as I love dark stuff, some scenes really haunted me. It's great, one of those shows that don't need many episodes to be good. And I sort of have a thing for Hugh Dillon, so that makes it all better ;)

I noticed Hugh Dillon in HCL the first time. I have to admit I haven't seen much stuff with him, but I do love his music. You have seen the first season of DH four times, wow, then I guess it must be really awesome. Me thinks I have to watch the DVDs very soon 'cause I love dark stuff. :D

Oh yes, it's dark. And I saw the 'cut' version. I don't know how many and which scenes they took out of it (I know they took out the swearing...) but it was crazy just like that. I'll have to watch the uncut version of season 1 sometime soon. I've seen season two uncut, and God, it was awesome. I'll probably watch the cut version of it when it comes on TV just to see what they took out. I'm curious. :P

I must saw I really, really love his music. Got into the Headstones a bit late (um, last year...) but they are one of my all-time fav bands. And I'm still kind of obsessed. ;)

Thankfully, they don't cut that much out of movies or shows in Germany. Just some really extreme violent scenes but no swearing. ;) On the other hand it depends on the translation as well, because they dub everything. It's good to know there are two versions out there. I really don't want to catch the cut version. ;P

The Headstones are awesome. :D I'm also fan of the "Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir". Did you have the latest album of Hugh? There are some new songs on it.

I have the impression that it's even worse in the US, because I've often seen movies that were rated 18+ over there, that ended up rated 13+ in Canada and Quebec. It's usually because of swearing or mild nudity. If you have neither of those two it'll probably be rated G in Quebec. For shows, it often happens that they'll cut out scenes were there is swearing, or they'll "beep" it. It depends on the channel, some will play uncenscored/uncut versions later at night (um, they could've put Durham County on later) and some will just never play them and always cut out some stuff. I've noticed that it happens a lot with standard cable channels. Personally, when it's just swearing and they cut out scenes, it really annoys me because I feel like I'm missing something. If they really want to take it off they can just put a blank or something (I've heard a sound once and I thought it was a cow, so unusual "beeping" is a bad idea ( ... )

I kind of guessed it was you anyway ;)

A lot of people were going crazy over some of your German shows here. Especially that show (I'm sorry, I don't know the German title) where there was this girl with braces and a not-so-great haircut who worked in the fashion industry and fell in love with this guy, who had no feelings for her at first. At some point she ends up with two guys after her and she marries the guy she first fell in love with (and I heard something about a vote where people decided who she would marry, that they had filmed two different episodes in advance where she marries the guys). I think it was a remake from a show frm another country, and they eventually did an American version of the show, Ugly Betty, but I think it's slightly different. Anyway, that show used to air three times a day on this French channel, used to get pretty annoying when you weren't a fan of the show (and God was it long, to make things better they made a second 'season' with a guy who happens to be the girl's half ( ... )

I think that wasn't hard to guess. ;)

Eeeewww! The show you're talking about is the German version of Ugly Betty or maybe of the other show you were talking about. I dunno. In German it's called: Verliebt in Berlin ( In Love in Berlin ). I never watched a single episode myself, but I saw a few scenes here and there. It's a cheap soap opera and I avoid such German crap wherever I can. Hee, I've read the German wiki entry to give you real facts: They didn't made a vote to decide which of the guys she should marry, they made a market analysis to see who's the favourite guy of the fans. But they made two "happy" endings and aired that one with the first guy. The ratings of the "second season" have dropped so they cancelled the show. It has exactly 645 (!) episodes!!! I remember that they have aired it daily and there was always a big hype about it. Again, I'm so sorry that they torment you with our crap and that, I can't believe it, three times a day. o_O

True, as they're both really good, but in a different way.I couldn't have said it ( ... )

A market analysis? Um ok. 0_o
The worse thing is that they aired it every day at 5pm for months, that being the time where I eat and when I used to put the tv on just for noise when I was eating alone. It was really annoying, I stopped watching that channel when I noticed that was pretty much the only thing they aired. Anyway, the French voices (which were always the same voices) annoyed me in the other shows as well.
