Morning, or rather afternoon, folks! I just woke up a short time ago, and while enjoying a peanut butter sandwich and a cup of tea, I've been Twittering about the latest Menswear collections out of Milan to help get the old brain to moving. Much as I adore my Parisian couture, there is a special place in my heart for menswear because, let's face it, male models and the clothing they are forced to wear are quite often unintentional sources of hilarity. If I might attract your attention to
Emporio Armani Spring 2011 for a prime example of this--ill-fitted leather and leggings as far as the eye can see! (The bathing suits in this collection are also special.)
And then there is the rather inexplicable inclination to march out an army of clones as the finale of a show. At the
Dolce & Gabbana runway this ploy was used to good effect (seen left, also note Annie Lennox on screen!); but again at Armani...ehhhhh *kinda* looking a bit like strutting biker Nazis there...
I'll report back if I spot anything else particularly noteworthy...
