Hey folks. So here I am at the midway point of my annual pre-Thanksgiving graveyard shift torture. At the end of the tunnel (Tuesday morning) is the prospect of an early paycheck and four beautiful days off in a row. Meanwhile, I get two weeks of sleep deprivation and a near constant feeling of being vaguely ill. Ah, the holidays! At least this year I do NOT have to look forward to the pleasure of a six-hour train ride with my mother o_O
Not much going on aside from work and failed attempts at sleeping through the afternoon. Making good progress on my needlepoint project, reading a cute YA historical about the composer Haydn's goddaughter, and making my way at a fast clip through Ugly Betty season 1 (such a fabulous show!). Picked up some pretty new beaded curtains, but I haven't had the energy to put them up yet. Treated myself to a couple of pieces of new jewelry, as well as a $10 box of electric pink petit fours (almost too pretty to eat...but not quite).
One pic to share before I go lie down for a little nap before my nightly caffination commences. Two recent additions to my art collection, both original acrylic paintings on canvas panel. On the left, the newly arrived is 'Kingdom of Pink' by the lovely and talented
charaxinae; on the right, 'Butterfly Fairy' by
Lori Karels, a wonderful artist I discovered through her ACEOs.
Now to hunt up appropriate frames...that reminds me--I've never framed canvas panel before, anyone have any tips? They don't need to be under glass, do they? I want to make sure I preserve them properly...
Naptime! I'll try to catch up on comments in a couple of days.
