And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!

Oh goodness, that's from Hamlet, isn't it? Too late to find an accurate quote now, blah. I watched two movies yesterday, which is practically unheard of for me--Great Expectations followed by Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet. I should have gone to sleep after I finished the former, but it has been so very long since I've seen the latter (I think not since we read the play in 9th grade?!) I couldn't resist. I still love it. Overall the production is a little dated (yeah, nearly 40 years old, so o_O), but the acting is wonderful and the design is soooo beautiful it doesn't matter...and those kids are just so damn CUTE. Juliet reminds me of a number of DeVinci portraits, especially Lady with Ermine and Lady from Milan.

What is this? While I was hunting up those I came across the most gorgeous portrait of Botticelli's muse, Simonetta Vespucci. Not however, painted by Botticelli (thus explaining why it has failed to come to my attention before now). Credit for this lovely work must go to Piero di Cosimo. A new research topic? Yes, I do think so.

Ah, late again. How predictible.
