So, since I resigned myself to the fact that I am getting older, and the extra weight I've put on over the past few years isn't going away anytime soon, I've been endeavoring to find ways to revise my wardrobe with new clothing that is affordable, reasonably attractive, and actually fits properly (no mean feat with odd my proportions). I've had pretty good results from many of the shops I've tried, so I though I'd pass along the ones I like best.
We'll start with the boutique tee company
Threadless.com. Since I started working night shift and was freed from the dreaded store uniform polo shirt, I've ended up wearing tees & jeans at least 50% of the time. This can get fairly monotonous, so I'm always on the lookout for shirts featuring new and interesting artwork, and particularly ones that coordinate with other parts of my wardrobe (skirts, etc.) so I can wear them at other times. Threadless really delivers in this regard. Their I find their crowdsourced graphics tend to be far more intriguing than many of the other made-to-order 't-shirt by committee' sites out there. My favorite example of this is a tee I got featuring the artwork below, entitled
Alice's Sewing Basket:
Other fun tops I have acquired from this site include
I Love the (Eighteen)80's,
TARDamask, and
Cosmic Cat:
Now, I must admit that Threadless falls a bit short in the 'fit' department, as all of their sizes (for ladies' shirts, at least) tend to run rather small. I usually wear XL/1X, but the two shirts I ordered from this site in that size barely fit (in truth, one of them is too tight for me to wear at all). For my next order I moved up to a 2XL, and while this turned out to be a great improvement, it is still quite snug. If you're going to order anything from this site, I highly recommend going one-up from your normal size!

That's all for now. Expect reviews of eShakti & Lane Bryant in the near future, as well as a look at a few new pieces from HolyClothing.
