Gaara entered, each brisk step one after the other up the steps of the white stone of the grand Forum a most calming place the young man had more often than not had taken the opportunity to pull himself away from the old Senators and take the time to think on his own. To pull himself away from the villa, and far from that pink haired loud mouth, though slowly learning her place in his household there had still been kinks needed to work out with the narrow green eyed glare and the curl of her lip in disgust. The Magums was a place for many to go when needed to be drawn back to the very core of Rome's great history, built from it creating the vastly expanding Empire to the far reaches of the world they had known. Gaara had not much cared for such things, only serving under Caesar to satisfy that reaching lust for blood that he had discovered he had a taste for the first time driving a short bladed dagger through the soft meaty flesh of his enemies. The Kingdom had gown, yes this he had to admit having traveled long side Julius on the ( ... )

As Konan walked through the marble halls her eye was caught by glaringly red hair. She only knew of one person in all of Rome with that color of hair. She weighed her options. She could either go talk to him and gain some minor amusement in the form of irritation, or she could ignore him and continue on her meandering way.

She strode over to the general, her head held high.

She smirked and greeted, "Well, if it isn't General Sabaku. What a surprise to see you, but it almost looks as if you are hiding. How utterly disrespectful to your peers. Perhaps I should inform them of your aversion?"

A lid slid calmly and slowly open to the sound of the voice in greeting, her tone insolent as nothing less of a savage Queen. Though it was a direct order to mind her, and treat her with utmost respect, respect for those who he had slaughtered when their refusal to bend to the Empire left a growl in his throat and a burning desired to slice through that pretty little neck of hers. "Surprising? tch....considering that I am here when not in my own home. I do my duty to this Senate, no savage woman can tell me otherwise." He answered in a harsh rebuttal. "You speak of disrespect to my peers? What about making yourself comfortable while your people die from starvation, without the leadership of their so called Queen, one who lives now in the shadow protecting wing of the man who conquered it all ( ... )

Konan's eyes narrowed. How dare he speak of her people like he knew anything at all about them? And to call her a bad queen! The gall! Her pale hands clenched into fists.

"And who is the one who slaughtered my kin and people when they had done nothing to garner such violence?" she spat. She quickly remembered to bite her tongue, however. She did not need him finding out about her plans; he would tell on her to Caesar in a heartbeat.

She took a deep breath. "But, the past is the past, I suppose." Oh what a lie that was. She would not, could not, forgive Gaara or Caesar for the destruction of her home. The thought of the people dying in her homeland sent a painful spear through her heart.

"You say that as if it were something bad, they were defiant as were are you. I take pride in the success of my work, you should know that already by what was left in our wake." He answered in a mild tone almost bored sounding, easing one step in front of the other, slower to see if she would actually be brave enough to continue her stride and take her punishment for acknowledging him in the first place. Besides if she had said anything out of line or out of place to displease him, it would take a mere glare, or short advancement to reminded her of what he was capable of.

Sakura was starting to realize it... and if sense could be forced into her over barring presences than this so called Queen would be no different that a simple slave.

"The time where I am needed again will rise, it's the waiting that get me antsy...."

Konan gave a derisive snort. "I have very little interest in what makes you antsy."

Konan decided she must be a masochist. First, she was in Rome, home to the people that ruined her tribe and those around her. Second, she was talking to this man who she could not stand. What was next, prostrating herself at Caesar's disgusting feet and pledging her undying loyalty? She couldn't help the amused chuckle that fell from her lips at the image that produced in her mind. She would sooner work at a brothel than do that.

Casting a narrow glance over the thickly fabricated shoulder to the taller woman, his expression flat and calm as usual noting the light chuckle passed her lips. "What could possibly be funny, either you are a complete idiot for not realizing the true position you have placed yourself in. In Gaul you were a Queen, in Rome you are savage taken in under the pity of the Empire as proved through your pleading to spare your life at the feet of your enemy. For that reason I have absolutely no respect. You are a coward. Simple." Letting the faintest of smirks tug to the corner of his mouth at his attempt after attempt of pushing the right buttons, driving this woman to the edge of lashing out of her boundaries giving him all the necessary reasons to do away with her, seeing her unfit to live in a civilized nation.

"The way they had fought when they had come face to face with the army that would bring them to their demise, I was actually surprised that they even had someone to call a ruler and placed control over them. There military tactics ( ... )

Turning his gaze back forward, complete satisfaction in achieving his goal, after all he had been rather good at reading people and their emotion, especially when it came to pure hatred towards the young red-head himself. Having seen that infuriating burn of desire to take down the one whom believed gave Caesar most of his victories by the grace and protections of the Gods themselves. "Again, your assumption to believe I even care as to why you are here is pathetic. Just because Caesar has welcomed you does not mean I will, I am good at many things, compassion isn't one of them. And for the record, be prepared to pay for your safe passage, Julius has a habit of sleeping with woman so long as they wear a crown." He answered her smugly, yet there was that slight hesitation to press forward to rebuttal the comment of woman having their own means of survival in this world, for that she was right. Woman were truly wondrous creatures savage or civilized they had many means of getting what they desire through the abilities to manipulate the ( ... )

Konan let her breathing even out and tried to push her anger to the side. She could not let this buffoon get the best of her. She tried her hardest to keep in mind that he was but a simple male that knew not of the world but war and sex (though she doubted Gaara knew very much of the latter).

She held herself high and said, "General, I did not come here to have petty arguments. Perhaps we should let this conversation come to an end before either of us says something that we regret." Though Konan highly doubted Gaara regretted anything, especially any of the words that came out of his mouth. "After all, the Forum is for civilized debate, not a heated war of words."

"Civilized?..." He turned to glance over his shoulder to her words with a snort, civilized debates? perhaps maybe that's what one would call it after being and seeing much of what war had to offer, but the arguments happening behind these walls were not as civilized as one might think. Of course it was mostly talks, voices reaching to be heard above anyone else but at times there had been disagreements leading up to physical violence. He snerked applying pressure to the dual wooden doors, creaking them open allowing the bright light of the suns rays peek through casting it's grace in the dim auditorium . "I have not seen civil anything since I was 10 ( ... )
