He hadn't known where he was until he woke up close to noon. But he had been comfortable and warm and that was all he cared. The decor, the unfamiliar bed - it was odd but he wasn't being threatened and he swore he heard birds chirping. As long as an axe wasn't coming down for him, it was ok.
At least until he noticed Helen beside himself.
Menelaus allowed him to watch her a little while before reaching over to pinch her nose shut.
Helen was comfortable (which wasn't unusual given her usual choice of beds) but she was warm and there was a comfortable body by her. There was no desire to wake up, sprawled out as she was on her side, but unfortunately she had a husband who was about to put an end to her wonderful sleep.
The lack of air caused her to flail a little, hands moving to swat at whatever was trying to deprive her from oxygen. Unfortunately, Menelaus was not easy to sway away, so Helen opened both mouth and eyes at the same time, looking rather cranky.
"Hi," he greeted her and was that extra cheer in his voice? There was. Just for her. "We're not in either of our places so I thought you'd like to know that. In fact, I think we're in Japan. Maybe."
He still hadn't released her nose.
Helen kept her mouth open so she could breathe, but then she swatted Menelaus hard. "Let me go." Her voice high and nasal-sounding thanks to his actions, "I don't care where we are, I was sleeping." Priorities, she had them.
As did Menelaus who found the high-pitch of her voice entirely too amusing. "I'm sorry, could you say that again? I didn't catch that."
This time Helen didn't say anything else, but moved to pinch his nose in return. Now she was going to get even wit him. He could be so impossible. (Not endearing right now though).
"Ow." That did not come out in a flattering manner so he reluctantly released her nose. Then he indicated for her to do the same.
Helen twisted her fingers a little to give it an extra-hard pinch before she let it go. "You are a bad, bad man." Helen declared sitting up without modesty (why should she? He was her husband). "Why did you wake me up?"
And with no sense of personal space, he put his hand on her left breast while leaning up to kiss her cheek. "Because if something happens, I don't want you to say I didn't wake you up."
She gave him a look, accepting the kiss to her cheek, but then swatted his hand playfully, "Yes, and because you wanted to take advantage of me while I'm awake?" Helen laughed though, indicating that she was nto at all angered with him. Just sleepy.
The hand slid away but only down to her waist. He feigned an innocent look, almost pouting. "Isn't that nicer than taking advantage of you while you're asleep, wife?"
"Only slightly." Helen replied with a smile and leaned down to kiss his cheek, "Good morning, where are we and why are we here?" For the first time she looked interested in her surroundings (at least they were nice).
Only slightly. Fine, he'd see how she liked it when he groped her in her sleep. "I have no idea except that it probably has something to do with another game where we get to be fooled around with. My biggest concern is more about clothes. Because I'd like some."
That made Helen laugh, "Or we could stay in here through the duration of... whatever it is that is going on." Dropping back on the luxurious pillows, she pulled away from him slightly with full intentions of sleeping again.
"Yes because nothing ever bad happens when you stay put in an unfamiliar place," he teased even while looking around. "You can sleep a couple more hours but if something happens, I'm wrapping you in a blanket and throwing you out of the window."
"Good." Helen shifted, turned and gave her back to Menelaus. Hey, she wanted to sleep and if her husband wanted to cuddle her, he coould arrange himself to fit the position she wanted. Selfish? Not at all.
"But if you throw me out the window, be prepared for revenge after." And Helen would make good on that promise.
"If you survive, sure." There would be no cuddles for the selfish wife beast. He was already getting out of bed to look about for some sort of clothing. He did not want to be naked if something went down. No, thank you.
