Lucifer was not amused. He was an angry beast at the best of times but this was really tipping him over the edge. He'd gone to bed on relatively civil terms with his big brother, idly wondering what would happen if he just came out one day and said it. "Jude. I'm the Devil. No, really. Grandma was right." With such thoughts in his head, he certainly hadn't expected to wake up in an opulent hotel room, decorated in Japanese fashion. Lucifer had never been one for cigarettes or alcohol but he did wonder if he was in some sort of state of altered consciousness. Until he checked the community, of course, and realised that he was trapped in a hotel with every goddamn idiot in the place.
Out of curiosity, he decided to go for a stroll, his hands shoved deep into the pockets of his hooded sweatshirt and with his hood pulled up. He looked every inch the juvenile delinquent.
He was tired, he was sore and there had been no one around when he woke up on the floor of a luxurious hotel room. Gabriel wasn't one to complain though, even if it hurt to breath in at the moment but nonetheless, he slowly got to his feet. It seemed real, the angel took a moment to lightly pinch his arm for good measure. Definitely real. He didn't want to stay in the hotel room, whatever was going on he knew it was best to find Michael or failing that, Uriel. He tried not to think about his sister, hoping she too was alright but he knew she was strong.
Gabriel peeked out of the door but saw no one at the moment so he stepped out and headed down the corridor as quickly as he could, trying not to breath in too deeply so he wasn't exactly watching where he was going as he rounded a corner in the hallway.
Of course, Lucifer ran straight into the other person rounding the corner at the exact same time. Fortunately, the collision wasn't too violent and he was briefly winded but nothing worse. His head snapped up when he realised he recognised the other man. A slow smile curled onto his face. Being as handsome as he was, the smile appeared perfectly benign. Friendly almost. There was certainly no hint of the amusement he felt at seeing Gabriel looking less than perfectly healthy.
"Daniel," he said. His voice was gentle. "Thank goodness. I thought I was going mad."
Gabriel nearly yelped at the shock of running into someone but managed to bite his lip. His ribs radiated a sore pain but it thankfully was not too much so he was able to look up at the other after a moment, his eyes going wide at recognizing who he ran into. "Kit..." he said quietly, after knowing Michael's younger brother for so long, the smile really didn't set him at ease.
"Are you alright? Is Jude around?" Gabriel asked, worried.
Lucifer shook his head and then bit his lip, feigning uncertainty. "No. I mean, I saw him last night when I went to bed but I haven't seen him since I woke up here." He looked around, a calculating light in his eyes betraying that he did not feel particularly ill at ease here.
He looked at Gabriel pointedly. "You look a bit worse for the wear, Danny. We should probably stick together. You know. Till we find Jude. He'll be around somewhere, I'm sure."
Gabriel nodded, glancing around before looking back at Kit. He was too distracted to notice the calculating look in the other's eyes as he leaned against the wall to rest for a bit.
"That is best, I agree. I am sure he is worried for you, Kit," he said with a soft smile. Even if Kit always made him feel distinctly uncomfortable (and more so when he bothered Leola), Gabriel was still concerned given the situation they found themselves in as well.
"Jude worries too much." If Lucifer sounded dismissive, it was because he tried not to think too much about his older brother. Humans disgusted him. Even Daniel, leaning against the corridor wall, disgusted him; he was so weak and too trusting. Lucifer would be using that to his advantage. Jude, though, was a different proposition. Lucifer couldn't quite quell the affection he felt for the man and it really was a deplorable weakness.
He leaned against the wall opposite. It looked like they weren't going anywhere for a while. It didn't signify. Lucifer had all the time in the world.
"He worries because he cares about you and your welfare," Gabriel said matter-of-factly. No matter what Kit may have done (at least as far as Gabriel knew...) he knew that Michael would still do anything for his younger brother and was always concerned. For now, he would do his best in Michael's absence though realistically, he knew that when it came down it there would be little he could do if push came to shove.
"Should we see if we can find Jude then?" he asked, slowly pushing away from the wall with an encouraging smile.
Lucifer nodded, a bit curtly. "Lead on, Danny," he said, indicating the corridor ahead of them. It seemed to stretch for ever and the place was eerily silent, even though he knew there to be plenty of people in residence. He had no problem letting Gabriel take the lead, though. Daniel and the lions' den did spring to mind. He bit the inside of his cheek to hide his amusement. Perhaps Sunday School hadn't been such a waste after all. "Lead on."
