Why is it people hear a Southern accent and seem to instantly assume the speaker is dumb or something? I know I talk a little slower then all y'all, but it's a regional thing. It's only the second week of school and already some of my classmates think they're just the funniest things ever all copying my accent trying to get a rise out of me. It's ( Read more... )

I agree it's bullocks that people judge specifically on accents. Personally I can tell there's different accents but I couldn't tell you where all the American accents come from.

Most folk who refuse to go outside of their neighborhoods and expand their minds to the rest of the world are the gits that say such things. You're good for not letting it take you down... Eventually they'll get theirs.
