Soutenu en tournant

[Since arriving at the hospital early Sunday morning Echo had been slipping in and out of consciousness. She could remember vague bits and pieces of her rescue and what had come before it - not enough to form a coherent picture but enough to convince her someone had played guardian angel. As to who it was, or who the person speaking some other semi-harsh but lyrical sounding language to her in the moments before she was freed were, well she had no idea.

That, combined with the fact that she was in effect scared for her life after what Famine had done to her made what came next frustrated for everyone involved. Considering what Samael had said to the paramedic he foisted the nymph off on - "There are some sick fucks out there." - combined with the nature of her condition, the cops had been called after the call to her brother was made. They had been waiting when sometime early Monday morning Echo woke up for long enough to seem stable. She'd panicked when she realized where she was, and that there was an IV stuck in her forearm - she hated hospitals, always had - but the kindly nurse stuck a syringe in the tube and suddenly things didn't seem that bad anymore.

The police asked her questions, even going so far as to bring in a sign language interpreter when they realized she couldn't actually speak to them, but Echo did what she felt was the smart thing and didn't tell them about Famine's involvement. As far as she knew some guy grabbed her when she was walking home, he knocked her out, and when she came to she was blindfolded and tied to something. She remembered a dog, and what seemed like days without anyone visiting, and then waking up in the hospital. She overheard the paramedic describing the man who had brought her in, the adjectives he used only bringing to mind one person. Sure, she knew a few blonde men who were tall and had a tendency to look angry, but only one who she could claim was 'freakishly tall'. It confused her, because she couldn't think of any reason why he of all people would go out of his way to stop Famine from whatever he'd been planning, so she resolved not to do anything until she received confirmation. Still, if Samael really did save her then she'd make certain she found some way to repay him.

For now however, damage control needed to be done. They'd found the bag she had with her when Famine had snatched her, the dance clothes and other items that clearly belonged to her lending credence to her account that she'd been on her way home, plus the other girls from the dance class corroborated her story as well. The police had said they'd come back after she got more rest, probably hoping she would remember something else, but Echo had already resolved to give Famine and his siblings as few reasons as possible to keep her on their radar anymore. Whatever deity listening willing, she never wanted to deal with any of them again.]

To anyone who might have been looking for me over the past few days, I'm sorry. I don't remember what happened, but I'm at Bellevue Hospital. Apparently I was very dehydrated, and I dislocated my right shoulder, but they've given me fluids and keep checking up on me, which I hope means they'll let me go home soon since I can't stand hospitals. No offense to anyone who works in one or enjoys them. Everyone here has been really nice.

Classes start on Wednesday, but I doubt I'll be out in time. Or if I am, I can't think I'll be in any shape to go. I've got the paperwork to drop, it's probably for the best that I do that.
