Thirty-third

Say what you will about brawling, but I feel a few bruises and scrapes suit me. Enhances my roguish appeal, even. Plus, people most assuredly know you mean business as a bodyguard when you look like you know how to handle yourself and defend whoever happens to be depending on you.

All in all, a good time.

You flatter me, darling. We should do it again sometime, preferably without the interruptions.

I cannot in good conscience disagree with you on that. I believe it's your turn to pick the place.

Nice choice.

Ah yes, well no offense to the husband but I'd prefer to have you all to myself as well.

You're quite welcome.

If you did object I would be quite sad. To be perfectly frank I believe there would only be you and two others, however I'm assuming you would, I have no interest in your husband's leftovers so Nimue is right out, and otherwise there's a friend's mother.

Yes, thank you indeed. A sad Mordred is a pathetic sight indeed and I hope you never have to see it. I must admit, the idea of being the subject of a selfish moment or two with you would be quite nice.

I'm sure there are some out there of an equally useless nature who might. She has a tendency to assume without thinking and insulted someone dear to me.

That would probably be for the best, as no man likes admitting their flaws when confronted by a strong, gorgeous woman. I know, my brother is that way.

She seems to truly believe in her own importance, which is nice for her. However, she doesn't seem to know how to remain to to her ideals and that disgusts me.

It's important to be viewed as strong, mostly, but the fear of having it used against me is also strong. We've always felt smarter than most.

Oh darling, believe me when I say I never took her seriously. I appreciate the fact that once upon a time her meddling helped my cause, but otherwise she's pointless.

No matter what life I've lived I've never been able to avoid those bastards. Then again I am one myself.

I will tell you simply because it's common knowledge. At the urging of my mother I betrayed my unknowing father and caused the downfall of our kingdom.
