HARRY POTTER POST. A rarity.
So my dear BFF came from another city and we went to watch some kind of amateur experimental theatre (but it just broke the fourth wall al lot. Anw). We were done by 9:30. What are we going to do next? I ask. Watch a sequel movie. I heart her.
I'll try to put these in a scene order but...
1. Daaaaamn Herm, just daaaamn.
2. Scrimgeour HAAAAI! Before Suzanne Collins, there was JKR. I should appreciate her more. See no.13.
3. Yates you suck. Now you introduce Bill to Harry, now? A Weasley? Really Yates? Also,
4. Ow. Twins and Remus/Tonks. I am depressed already. I thought it'd be good that I didn't remember much of book 7 because hey surprise! but OW. See no.14.
5. Action occurs, death and mauling, snogging, dancing, more destruction. That was a bit quick considering the time they've taken to depress you with the Nightfall In The Wizarding World And Britain In General. I remember being all excited coz they've split it in two movies, maybe it'll be smoother this time around but I still got whiplash and there were a lot of kids (myself included) who needed to explain what was happening to the uninitiated.
6. Ahahaha George you go big bad brother you! Ow.
7. Btw, does anyone remember what happened In The Book when V tried to kill Harry with Lucius' wand? Did that line of light thingie appear? Also, Lucius Malfoy as the comic relief? I feel too sorry for him. And WHERE ARE THE ALBINO PEACOCKS I WANT MY ALBINO PEACOCKS DAMMIT.
8. I like how Harry keeps notes on R.A.B. like I did. This scene was in the beginning wasn't it?
9. Am amused at how Cormac is the new Draco. And fierce!Ginny doesn't sit well with me. Although Neville/Ginny hanging out---> cute.
10. Is the scary snatcher leader scary or what? I did not have fun walking alone to my car after midnight.
11. The sneaking into the ministry stunt and the whole lot was so fun. Must have been the one thing I laughed at.
12. Aaand angst!
13. Wait what? Scrimgeour dies? Before being all Evil Manipulative Resistance Leader? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
14. I like the contrast between Ron who was born in wizard culture and Herm and Harry who weren't. It actually helps with Ron's envy. And then there's the dancing to NICK CAVE OMG which was sweet and considerate of Harry and... poor lonely Chosen One?
15. See this is what I'm talking about. What's with the Wuthering Heights scenery? Why aren't you getting deeper into your plot dude? Are you going for the desolate environs desolatingly reflecting the desolation in their cores of desolation? Like the amusing attempts at hand-held camera scenes? Boo Yates boo.
16. So, Xmas. Grim as fuck. And AHAHAHA freaky grandma wtf? And then they get in her house and I'm like wait something happens here and I kind of start saying shit shit shit shit. I am being looked at. IT'S NAGINI CHRIST I DIDN'T REMEMBER THAT.
17. We have the doe patronus and woohoo! sword and drowning and omigosh unexpected salvation. Two things:
a. Remind me, ITB (In The Book, why isn't this a thing?) didn't Snape die right about then? Should we be expecting another unexpected salvation last movie around?
b. Fuck I am so embarrassed. Was I the only one who thought Ron stabbing with his sword the image of Hermione taunting him-- and Hermione snogging Harry-- disturbingly familiar? And connection now found/imagined I don't know what to make of it.
18. Yada yada captured, Malfoy manor, torture, Draco's wimpy indecision moment, Dobby death, wand of Doom found THE END. Why is-- was-- Dobby wearing a pillowcase again? And what is--was-- he doing serving the Malfoys again? OK in-movie-canon inconsistency (I think) the ending is ruined boo Yates boo.
19. Bellatrix's hairdo is larger than life. It must come alive to strangle her victims while she's carving their skin or smth.
20. Did they seem like they could act or was it just me? I did not tsk and sigh at Watson and Radcliffe this time around. I am proud of them sniff.
21. Am still depressed though.
