I'm on vacation, about three weeks after everybody else (and working through that Christmas/ New Year season) - but this is worth it. What am I doing this week?

- Checking through my book proofs.
- Speeding through about a season of Japanesepod101.com lessons. (That's about fifteen lessons a day.) (Why do I learn languages? Because they're there, and because it's fun.)
- Watching movies and documentaries. So far, I've watched Avatar (in 3D!), several West Wing episodes, and the documentary Bigger Stronger Faster - a pretty well-thought-out discussion of steroid use in America.
- Reading all my library books.
- Renewing said library books. (Oops.)
- Cooking to my heart's content. Apple crumble. Tuna pasta. Miso udon.
- Practicing my Japanese on Jimmy's unsuspecting neighbours.
- At the end of this week we're going on a massive ski trip to Hakuba in Nagano, where the snow is apparently about ten feet high. (Good thing I brought my red jacket - you know, all the better to find my body by.)

Basically, I'm doing everything I would be doing at home, with a few important exceptions: more snow, more Jimmy, more good Japanese food...
