sick. sicksicksick. woke up yesterday with a sore throat and an inability to move. woke up today with swollen lymph nodes and an inability to move. I wonder if I'll even wake up tomorrow.
anyway, not so sick that I am not working from home. okay, maybe a teeny tiny little bit of work, and it's just writeups of science articles. the terrible thing about being ill is that I am simultaneously going out of my mind with boredom and have no energy to do anything about it.
so I'm teaching myself Japanese, from scratch, with http://www.guidetojapanese.org/, handwritten flashcards, and a basic vocabulary book. fun! (So far, I know how to say things like 'Bob likes fish'.)

Philip Roth - The Anatomy Lesson
Burton Malkiel - A Random Walk Down Wall Street (really, really needs an updated edition to reflect the 2008 economic crisis!)
