Igraine's cellphone read about five to one -- last she looked at it, it had been four to one -- which meant that the former queen was growing more nervous by the minute. To be able to meet her Morgause as if they had been separated for only several years, when in fact is was centuries, and feeling like longer. There were so many things to say, so many questions she wanted to ask, that she had no clue which to start with.
She supposed she'd start with 'hello' and go from there. One step at a time.
Trimmed nails traced a circle of leftover sugar on top of the table she was seated at, and with the patience of a saint, she waited for her daughter to make her appearance. It was only a matter of time now.
