Summary: Knights to the rescue
As soon as he read the message Samael put up about the Horseman in the basement Mordred got a cold feeling in his chest. Not necessarily in his heart (because he still questioned if he had one) but in that general vicinity. He knew which Horseman it had to be considering the circumstances, and while his first instinct was to grab his pistol and his shotgun and rush out the door he decided to wait and see what the others wanted to do. He knew Arthur would weigh in, and this might be just the chance he needed to get on his fathers' good side.
So he sat, planned, waiting to see what his father would say. What Merlin would do. If anyone would even broach the subject of attempting a rescue. If they even cared. He knew this was not their war. He knew how the Horsemen could react if they knew Knight of the Round and King Arthur were involving themselves. Yet, they didn't involve themselves, the archangel involved them. If Mordred had his way this would end their involvement, but he got the impression Merlin would muck things up somehow. He even warned his father of this, not that he expected anyone to listen. Still, when the time came and he saw no other option, he mentioned his ace in the hole. He knew an address where they could be, where the dog definitely was. When Arthur volunteered to go with him he accepted. When Lancelot jumped in on it he didn't let it faze him.
Standing outside the building, smoking a cigarette while leaning against the side of the building, Mordred felt the weight of his gun heavy against his stomach. He had let Arthur know in no uncertain terms that while this may be a simple 'red cross' mission as far as he was concerned to Mordred it had the potential to be something more. If the man down there was the lanky Horseman who he figured it was then there was a very strong chance that Arthur and Lancelot might not like his reaction, not that Mordred really cared what Lancelot thought. Arthur was a different story.
Checking his watch, he scanned the street in search of them. He could hear Beast barking, and that only increased his agitation. If they weren't here in five more minutes he'd go in without them and make excuses later.
