Summary: After the shooting
He’s starting to get a little tired now, the stresses of a week of unwilling truth and the past day starting to catch up with him, but he’s still awake (and strong) enough to guide Gabriel from Uriel’s room by the elbow, smiling at Margaret (the nurse who he took aside to whisper instructions about keeping Uriel in bed to, and also the nurse who made him about three cups of tea when she found out what happened) as they go.
The corridor is bright, a little too bright for the current state of his eyes, but he braves it at least for now. Leaning back against a wall, and miraculously looking like he’s not about to slump down it, and crossing his arms gently, “he’ll be alright.”
And if he suppresses a yawn at that? Well, maybe nobody will see and if they do he can hopefully deny it.
