Summary: Euterpe's band is performing, all are invited.
There was something incredible about being up on stage. Euterpe had never realized it when she was performing with orchestras, but now that she was in a band it all seemed far more intimate. It was thrilling to know that when the electric flute kicked in that was all her, not just one flute among many, and the fact that she had people to share the experience with made it even better.
She had arranged tickets for her new friend Cordelia, and one for Benoît Chevalier, the guy she recently found herself flirting with, and was hopeful they'd show up. From her vantage point stage left she had a pretty clear view of the audience and even though she had no idea what the people she happened to be looking for looked like, she had the strange feeling she'd know them on sight.
Hearing Darien strike a chord on his six-string snapped her out of her little daze, and she grinned as the lights came up revealing all four band members in identical suits, different colored ties, black masks covering their eyes and noses, and fedoras. She felt a trill of excitement flow through her as she caught the signal, raising her flute to her lips as Darien made the all important announcement or introduction - "Hello NYC, thanks for coming out tonight. We are Corporate Ninja, here to stealth-rock your world!"
And with that, the music started, a clear note filling the room as Euterpe took the lead on the opening number.
Their set went longer than originally planned, mostly due to the fact that people seemed to like them, but when all was said and done it had been worth it. After packing up their instruments and clearing their things off the stage Euterpe moved into the audience. Pausing at the bar to get her usual Cape Codder, she found a good place to park herself while she looked around for anyone she might know.
