Evita always walked calmly at Uriel's side whenever he took her out, most likely because his partner had trained her well. In a strange way, he felt that part of his late friend's soul had been left behind in the graceful Greyhound at his side, as if he was living on within Evita. It was a comforting thought. An encouraging one.
He adjusted the leash around his hand, rapping the ashes from his cigarette with the other as he spotted the younger angel about two benches away. The cigarette was crushed beneath a shoe after one final drag before Uriel crossed over to his brother.
Gabriel looked like he'd seen better days.

"Brother. I'm glad you were able to make it," he said as the other angel approached closer.

Though Gabriel wasn't given a smile in return, there was a kindness to Uriel's expression, the sort he reserved for his family alone, blood and angelic. He came to a stop about two feet away, loosening his own hold on the leash to allow Evita to sweep in and curiously touch her nose to Lamby's.
"I would have let you know if I couldn't." He reached out and settled a hand along the younger man's upper arm. "You sounded distracted on the phone. Is everything okay?"
If the last two weeks had anything to say about it, he could venture to say probably not.

"I wish I could say it was but it isn't," he said as he let Lamby go a little to so he could sniff at Evita as well. "Should we find somewhere for them to run around a little?" he asked, glancing down at Evita and Lamby getting to know each other once more.
