Gawain almost sighed at that. He had been irrational, too harsh with the girl. Considering what he himself had done, could he not have given her a wider berth? Possibly. If he wasn’t sitting by Agravaine’s side, listening to that pathetic sound the machine did every time it pumped oxygen into his lungs. Later he would worry about cleaning up his mess. Not enough to bother him - half of the words in one ear, out the other - but the knight did nothing but acknowledge his own mistakes.

“She was probably the cause but I can’t see her instigating anyone seriously,” he commented absently. A twig of a girl with enough idealism to fill up the room. No, he couldn’t really see it. Then again, he had been wrong before. “Better to depart from the assumption whoever it is worked alone. I think I might have seen some of those around the network. Otherworldly beings then?” Another assumption which could be taken without concern. Every human in that place held something different, something that set them apart from everyone he walked by on the streets. It would explain just how Agravaine had been beaten. No normal man would, biased and possibly unfair opinion that that could be.

“I can…” Probably request someone to keep an eye on the network while they were at the hospital. Maybe Asya would, with a little persuasion. “I will have someone keeping an eye out but she is not important right now. Except, perhaps we should make sure she does not meet mother. Unwillingly or not, the muse was the beginning of this and mother will not bother to make a distinction.” She hadn’t for her own son. Though that had involved her death so perhaps the situation would never apply. “About the others, I’m afraid I know none. You will speak to them or should I run background checks?” Or both.

It was easier to speak of what could be done than speaking of what couldn’t be remedied except by time. Agravaine looked wrong, even worse than the last time the knight had seen him. Sickness didn’t apply to him, just as injuries contrasted with everything he represented.

“Then all we can do is wait.” Gawain closed his eyes briefly, tightly but nodded, accepting the information. “Not the best family reunion we could have managed.”

Mordred wasn't concerned about the possible irrationalities Gawain may be experiencing; he remembered clearly how he had behaved during the sickness but he also remembered being smart enough to stay far away from everyone else and keep communications to a minimum during that time. There was a measure of logic behind her words, not enough for him to feel chastened but enough for him to accept she probably had a point. Not that it changed anything.

"Let's be honest, brother, who around here, including Agravaine, would need more than just the slightest nudge to take it upon themselves to play the fool?" He was referring to the time when Agravaine picked a fight with Lancelot over something Elaine had said before realizing Gawain wasn't around for that. "I've seen some of them around as well, most definitely otherworldly." He could agree with Gawain that it would take more than some mere mortal to bring Agravaine down.

"No, she isn't important, however it occurs to me that if mother were to take it upon herself to mete out revenge whoever attacked Agravaine may take it as a personal affront." Not that he thought anyone would hurt their mother, but they couldn't take that risk. "Perhaps both would be best. Also, we should see what Vaine remembers when he wakes up." And he would wake up, of course, of that Mordred had no doubts.

"If it turns out Arron was involved, then I'd rather not speak to him alone. He has a warlike way about him, and depending on his answers I would rather not be caught unawares. If Agravaine isn't awake by then I have brothers through my mortal heritage I can call upon, unless you know of someone you'd recommend instead."

Waiting was not something he was good at. "No, not hardly, but if it takes someone getting hurt to convince us all to see each other what does that say for us?"
