Come to my heart, cruel thoughtless soul
Beloved tiger, beast of careless airs.
I want to plunge my shaking hands awhile
Into the thickness of your heavy hair.
And in your clothing, smelling of perfume
I want to bury my dull, aching head
And breathe in, like a withered, faded flower
The odor of my love, corrupt and dead.
I want to sleep! I'd rather sleep than live!
And in my slumber like the sleep of death
I'd cover you with kisses without guilt
Upon the polished copper of your flesh.
To swallow up my sobs that come too late
I know there's nothing like your bed's abyss

And Lethe is the river of your kiss.
So to the future pleasure of my fate

A willing martyr-innocent condemned,
Whose fervor leads to torture anyway.
To drown my rancor I am going to suck
Forgetfulness more strong than heroin,
I'll drink it from these charming, pointed tips,
Your breast-in which a heart has never been.
I just discovered this guys work today after looking at a drawing I plan on getting tattooed by Mark Ryden. I want to get the fetal skeliton you see when you click on paintings, then drawings. The book it is holding says Baudelaire, So I popped that into google and found some of his work. On first reading it took my breaths away, same with the second and third. You can find more of his work here . Enjoy! Also if anyone knows a reputable tattoo artist that would be able to do this piece well let me know.
