So someone in one of the autumn groups I belong to posted the following today:
Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff -- including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see. This was passed on to me from another pumpkin. Now, it is your turn to pass it to a pumpkin. I liked this enough to send it to all the pumpkins in my patch. Happy Autumn!
I didn't know whether to be affronted or laugh hysterically. I chose the latter. I mean come on, apparently her god hollows out her head and makes her smile even if she doesn't want to. So who would I give that kind of power over me - not one person or god comes to mind. I think that would be why I am not "Christian". So yeah... anyone want to do a pumpkin carving contest? - winner gets to be a god for a day.

Stress Relief PS - my voice lesson yesterday was fantastic. I even admit to myself that I sounded awesome. I think I should sing in Sanctuaries more often. And keep your fingers crossed for me. Perhaps something will pan out in a month or two that will make me very happy. (no, not that. That can't happen for another few months at least) We'll just have to wait and see.
