Yes, I Am Not Dead
I've been busy with work.
There's been the DDoS attack on LJ.
I've been even busier at work.
I've had a sinus headache for freaking days now.
And I've haven't really had anything to blog about. I paid for the vacation, which is just over 2 months away. OMG! We went through a heat wave but it seems to be over now and we're allowed to water again so I'm currently running the sprinkler on all the gardens. And hey, if the grass gets some aqua all the better, right? I did go our earlier and pull all the weeds since I haven't done that in over a month. Took a while, made my headache worse, and filled a mulch bag full of crap. But it is done for the time being so I can stop obsessing about it.
Recently Read: The Dervish House by Ian McDonald.
My thoughts? I liked it. There were some slow parts and I have to admit that a greater familiarity with Islam and Istanbul might have led me to like it more. A good read, well drawn characters and enough action to keep me engaged. I especially liked the way McDonald changes POV so we see what is going on with each of the five main characters. I still like River Of Gods the most but this is definitely on my recommended list.
Now if you'll excuse me I have to go move the sprinkler. Here, have a picture of the squirrel stealing a tomato.
