052 [secure yourself to heaven, hold on tight, the night has come]

There may be something wrong with the squirrels.

One fell from its perch and nearly crushed the house--but upon examination, it was dead, without sign of injury, without clear sign of sickness, without sign of old age.

I pray this is an isolated incident, but given their size, I recommend caution.

I'm sorry to even say this, but it's not the only one. There's one in the meadow outside the house. Spooked the horses half to death, too.

It's said that one is happenstance and two is coincidence...but I'm not sure of that here. Is everyone (and everything) all right?

Yeah. I'm not sure what to do with the thing--burn it, perhaps? It'll start to rot soon enough. But no one or nothing was harmed.

That is a good question--burning it may be best. I doubt even the dragon could eat all of these corpses.

I am glad to hear that.

You mean Havoc? I--reckon he is the only one left now. And quite possibly the only one that would deign to eat squirrel.

I will then. Can't leave the damn thing out on the field, either.

Havoc, yes. ...Do you think what is killing the squirrels might affect him as well?

Well, Havoc isn't a Tree animal--he seems okay so far and I hope he stays that way. But I don't want him to eat anything that's died.

The Farm animals aren't sickening, right? Our horses seem healthy. You have a point, though, Krile--best let Master Lezard figure out what's wrong with the squirrels. If they are sick of something, we need to know.

I don't think so, but you would have to ask a farmer to make sure. I'll see what the birds have to say about it.

I will, soon as Huo gets home.

Let us know then. Thanks.
