Yes, it's that Free Willy song I used to scoff at in my youth. It was background noise like so many other MJ songs at the time. But that's their wonder, isn't it? That so many of us can use his music to measure our youths, remembering where we were and what we were doing when this song or that video was released? I read somewhere that if you grew up in the 80's, he was as ubiquitous in your childhood as video games and microwave ovens, and I agree. My older sisters remember another Michael, one they grew up with in the 70's. One of my earliest memories was listening to their Jackson 5 record and trying to dance to it with them. I was probably 3 or 4. So I'll be one of the billion people watching the memorial service to pay my last respects as an integral part of my childhood is laid to rest.
