The 11th Commandment

Mar 25, 2006 19:54

According to a very reputable news source, "atheists are America’s least trusted group" as "Those surveyed tended to view people who don’t believe in a god as the 'ultimate self-interested actor who doesn’t care about anyone but themselves.'"

People (plural noun) are the actor (singular noun) who doesn't (3rd person singular conjugation) care about anyone (singular pronoun) but themselves (3rd person reflexive plural pronoun).

Right. Well, America you may not trust me because you believe that I'm a self-indulgent anti-christ with no sense of morality, but I don't trust YOU because you (and no one is more guilty of this than your President-in-Chief, Mr. Bush) seem unable to construct simple sentences, even when, in cases such as this, I'm sure an editor has been employed to check them over. I suppose you don't need to be grammatically correct NOW because you'll have eternity to perfect it in that afterlife of yours. I just wish that someone had written "thou shalt not take noun-pronoun agreement in vain" into the 10 commandments, you know, because the ones about adultery, keeping the Sabbath and not taking the Lord God's name in vain are followed so god damn rigidly.

ranting, things that annoy me, things that amuse me
