Another month goes by

Feb 14, 2013 05:06

I get to wondering what happened this last month. I don't read my journal here online. I don't even post that much. I just basically go to work and go home. Twelve hours shifts at my job. Then come home have some breakfast, watch a little tv with my husband. Then go to sleep and then wake up and start it all over again. On my every other weekend off, I spend time with my youngest grand kids. I'm just trying to get some sewing done in the mean time. I want to make eight double size/full size quilts. I know if I have the right kind of material. It would be better. I just need to get it done and soon. Heck I just need to get one started. I had sewn up new curtains for a neighbor. She had bought some material. She had asked my son if he knew any one that sews. He told her, "my mom sews. She has made our clothes the whole time I was growing up. Now she sews some Halloween costumes. I still have the MnM costumes that I made before. Only now my littlest grandson can wear it. I have yet to get sew some new things for myself. I need to clear out the one room and turn it into a sewing craft room. So I can create more things to wear also. Make some totes and hairties. I really feel better once I finish some sewing project. I just need to start a new one. I use the kitchen table for the cutting board. And the telephone table to place my sewing maching on. I love to sew. So now it's the middle of the month. And here I have yet to finish my music list. I have written down a list of songs to relax by. A list of songs that are energizing to me. I just have to put them onto a MPG 3 player. Now I would have to buy an MPG 3 player. I still have my cassette player and some of my old music cassettes that I listen to from time to time. I still play a couple of games on my old dinosaur of a computer. I read where 1998 was a good year to buy a computer. For the price I paid back then for it. I could have an Apple laptop right now. Yet it still runs and that's okay by me. I still have a couple of old programs that are so great. Now with the smart phones there is a whole new world in the apps. I'm listening to 'Southern Cross' by Crosby Stills and Nash. I feel like a dinosaur. Then they don't create songs like this anymore. And the vocals are unmatched. I was listening to the Doobie Brothers song , 'Rocking Down the Highway.' Remembering the time when life was simpler. Gas costs a lot less, and you could spend hours just 'Rocking Down the Highway,' and singing this song at the top of your lungs, with the windows down and having the breeze whip my hair around. Good times.
