Coloring Tutorial for Photoshop

going from
 -->

1. At the bottom of your layer box, click the half white half black circle then click Solid Color. (this is a shortcut for new adjustment layer) Type in 011537 which is a Dark Blue. Set that layer to Exclusion, or Subtract in other programmes (i think). Adjust the opacity to fit your picture, mine is set at 100%.

>>>>

2. Do the same thing but this time type in the color a4ddf4 which is a bright blue. Set that layer to Color Burn, or Burn in other programmes (once again, I THINK). Adjust the opacity to fit your picture. Mine is set at 100%.

>>>>

3. Its quite dark, so add another Solid Color layer and type in the color ffdaff, a light pink. Set the layer to Softlight. Its far too bright so lower the opacity. Mine is set at 48%.

>>>>

4. Duplicate your base (Ctrl J) and drag it right to the top. Set the layer on Softlight. If the contrast is too much, lower the opacity. Mine is at 100%.

>>>>

5. Duplicate the Softlight layer. Leave it on Softlight but Desaturate it (Shift Ctrl U). Adjust the opacity to fix your picture. Mine is set at 100%.

>>>>

6. Coloring time! Click the half white half black circle and click Selective Coloring. Type in these settings:
Reds: -100 | +22 | +45 | +37
Yellowe: +100 | +49 | +76 | +51

>>>>

7. Click the same thing to add a Hue/Saturation layer.

Yellows 0 | +13 | 0

If its too red, lower the Master Saturation.

Just a tip: If your finished result is too red, add a Color Balance layer and put in:
Midtones: -44 | 0 | 0.

Add your text and other stuff and your done! I added a text brush and a XXX brush. i typed out the word PRINCESS in Times New Roman, then added a white stroke of 2 pixels set at Overlay.
