Right now it feels like the first few episodes were creating a sense of 'normal' and revealing the status quo for the Dollhouse. Now the status quo is being thrown off and things are starting to get a bit more interesting.
There's been some prodding in regard to what the dollhouse is REALLY for; hinting that the overt purpose is not the real purpose and I think that will be interesting to see reveal and resolve.
Other than that, there's about as much subtlety in the show as a bag of bricks to the face when it comes to foreshadowing. It's somewhat difficult to get attached to the characters since we don't really know who they are yet. 'Echo' is an empty shell. Her real personality is on a hard drive somewhere. However, I think Echo and a few other dolls will develop personality as the series continues and I'm interested to see how those personalities measure up to their 'real' personalities. If that makes any sense.
I'd give it a meh plus at this point, but I think the next episode will continue to bring my opinion up.
