I'm avoiding going home

Well, here it is 7 at night and I'm still at the office. I stayed late to do some organization and setup of my cube without people watching me, and now I'm staying and doing computer setup things which, let's face it, I could be doing at home. I just don't want to go home cause I'll be all alone there this week. Plus I'm hiding from the laundry.

Work today was dull as shit. My NHOT buddies and I sat in a cold conference room all day getting patchwork orientation/training on the QDEV group. I'm glad I got placed here and all, but damn is it boring to hear about. Not to mention that the people who lead QDEV are hardcore nerds, and so listening to the first guy mumble and monotone his way though a bunch of PowerPoint slides was like a sleeping pill. On the bright side, they did not in fact throw out my lunchbox last week so I can bring my lunch again tomorrow. Which is good because...

I'm gonna run out of money soon. Well, those of you who know me know I'm being dramatic, but still. I've been spending a lot in the past couple of months on work clothes and stuff for my apartment and such (oh and going out to eat, that's a big one), and I thought it would be fine because I just got my first paycheck and big signing bonus and paid off all my debts and thought I was finally gonna start getting ahead again and be able to put a couple thousand back into my savings account, but no. Found out today that my car will need to be in the shop for like the rest of the week and repairs to the engine and brakes will cost a little over $1000. Sigh. After work tomorrow I'm probably gonna go over to the Firestone place and get Toby (the mechanic I accidentally flirted with, another story) to go through everything he told me today was wrong and give me the prices again. I was kind of in a hurry cause he called me the first time at work, and I want to be sure I know what's going on and that I'm not getting screwed because I'm a girl who knows nothing about cars. Probably won't do me much good though; the engine had gotten really bad and I've known for a long while that something serious was gonna have to get done to my brakes. Oh, and my inspection was apparently about 7 months out of date. How the hell did I miss that one?? Guess I'll have to wait a while for my iPhone after all. It will be my reward for putting at least $2000 back into my savings and still having enough money left in my checking account to buy it comfortably.

Welp, can't put it off any longer. Heigh-ho.
