Backstory:
Zern's Farmers Market in Gilbertsville is a trip. Being in the far northwest corner of Montgomery County (as opposed to the far southeast, where I live), it's got a totally different demographic than I'm used to seeing anywhere around here. Guns, camo gear, grunge-free flannel, pickups instead of SUVs, blatant and unashamed Christian affects, non-ironic cowboy hats...basically, it's RURAL, hardcore style. The older folks also outnumber the young'uns probably 2:1, wandering the aisles, checking out the deals on random garage sale knicknacks, books and produce. That's the other great thing about it, aside from it being a sociological curiosity, they've got better deals on your veggies, meats and cheeses than even the Italian Market. Totally worth the drive, y'all.

Backstory: Think I might have liked this shot better if the girl and her kid weren't looking right at me. Still, I like how I captured the monolithic neon...it's pretty much all over the mart. The aisle here isn't as crowded as it might have been during the summer, though. In June-July-August, it's like the Western Montco equivalant of the mall.

Backstory: In the city the night before, in the tunnels underneath City Hall, en route to Chinese food and Rainer Maria's next-to-last show. I always wanted to try and shoot this weird column-ular thing, and figured there was no better time than the present. The skater kids in the background add a nice touch, methinks.
