Military men past and present climb this wall. Right?
The long, sprawling fields, muted and grey under a cloudy sky.
A statue of a young infantryman. He's about to bash somebody in with the butt of his rifle.
An intense stare.
A statue by the copse of trees, nearby where Pickett's Charge occured...the turning point of the war for the Yankees.
Cannonballs!
Saw a bunch of people across the field all wearing similar-colored garb and thought they were reenactors.
But they were really just ROTC guys. One, who was guiding the tour, had an irritating habit of inserting "right?" where there might normally be a comma in his sentences. (eg. "This is the site of Pickett's Charge, right? Where southern troops tried and failed to break the northern ranks stationed on the ridge, right?" etc.)
wuvmuphin was my travel companion, and for kicks, we shot some satirical goth /emo pictures of her looking forlorn by the graveyard.
She can force herself to cry. So sad. Heh.
