Yoga in the house

Still kickin it here in Baltimore waiting ever so patiently for my PCR to finish, in other words, I am full of a tremendous boredom trying to alieve it by listening to song clips on Amazon. Gotta love my music. If you are in the US, you had better have bothered your Congresspeople regarding the whole Save the Internet Music thing. Save it, you crazy fool.

We saw Wilco last week, and once again, I realize that I feel too old to watch concerts. Of course, Wilco was absolutely awesome, especially in the glory of California Stars in their encore. But the crazy fools lighting up everywhere and spilling beer on me and screaming every few lines, worse than that fanatic in Baptist church. We just want to sit back on the lawn and chill to some amazing music while sipping on a bottle of wine. Not standing behind ridiculously tall guys that dance unbecomingly to some other beat lost within their walrus heads. It was a glorious summer night, a small rainstorm followed by weather in the upper 60's. Why can't people just relax?

Yoga teacher training is doing alright. I'm learning heaps, though I feel the low level of many of the other students holds the entire class back. I would rather all of the other trainees surpass my ability so that I could feel the urge to strive. Friday evening, all of the trainees prepared a class and each person taught a pose. Following a very nervous and stressed performance, we were informed that we sucked beyond belief...not only sucked in our teaching abilities but also sucked in our practice. Looking back, it was mostly true...horribly mean, but true for most of the students. They gave us a second chance Sunday evening and we soared. Though, people constantly amaze me. After all that preparation, only about 40% improved, including me, about 30% remained about the same, and the final 30% lost what little ability they had. My criticism from the teachers was helpful, and I can't wait to teach again.

Drew and I practice yoga every morning. It's a beautiful thing. I love watching his body, his muscle tighten as we practice poses. I love helping his back become strong and flexible, removing the old lower-back pain. I love when he helps me gently into a deeper position, breathing deeply together and pushing ourselves to be stronger and more graceful. Oh yeh, we are fortunate.

Onward toward a weekend of painting and searching for used cabinets to redo the pathetic kitchen. Onward to preparing the plot for planting a little garden next year and prettifying the front yard.
