A Little Belated Necro Report
Alrgight. I left work at around 3:30 and ran home to wait on matt, rob, and gary to come and pick me up. I had everything ready and waiting for me when I arrived home I just had to shower. So 3 hours later im showered and still waitinmg on them to arrive... apparently it takes 3 hours to grab some soda and gas the car.... Anywhoo. When we arrived I was kinda overwhelmed by the sheer masses of people at the convention. And then I realized i had made a huge social fo'pah... I was the only person not wearing both black clothing or a trenchcoat! So i stuck out like a sore thumb and after about two minutes figured out how to use this to my advantage. The shallow people would stay away as i was not "appropriately dressed" and everyone else would talk to me whenever i came near and wasn't in "clear the path" mode.
Anywhoo, signup and registration was quick as there was no line and we all proceded over to LARP HQ to generate char sheets for what we expected to be a large game. halfway through generation Angie comes flouncing over and sits down and strikes up a conversation with me. Now at this point im being polite and continuing the conversation as best i can while still doing my job of building LARP sheets. Then i heard something odd and had to ask her to repeat herself. Angie says, "Yes Colin you heard me right last time. I'm ten weeks pregnant." Now i still consider Angie one of my friends, no matter what it is that she says behind my back, so I am genuinely happy for her and congratulate her ask when its due etc. However after about five to six minutes of this its starting to set into my head a little better and i have to break off the conversation. Angie has a baby on the way. Most of the people I know have a baby on the way. And I'm envious. I genuinly like kids. I want to have two to three of my own eventually. Gotta love how fate works.
Anywhoo we rush through the creation of the char sheets to go and start our game. Hmmm. 7 signatures.... meh gotta start somewhere. Anywhoo. we go to our selected game site sure that attendace will pick up and then proceed to wait there for noone all we have are the 7 people from normal vamp who we knew were coming. meh the first night was expected to be slow. So we wrap up game for later and go back inside to mingle.
So we all flood back inside and run up to joanns room where Doug had his alchohol. Now Doug makes me about 6 strong drinks which disappear in a few min as i am sitting there playing with their new baby. Then doug falls asleep and I excuse myself after asking Joanna to make me a drink "for the road". Lets just put it this way it had the ability to take paint off the wall with the added bonus of tasting good, I was impressed. So I wander around for a little bit and eventually end up in the movie rooms and see FF7: Advent Children playing in one so i run upstairs and grab everyone who is awake to come down and watch. Its a kickass movie everyone go and buy it when it comes out. I'm hungry at this point so I head to the con suite for munchies. When I arrive I find the IGOR/YGOR party in full swing and join in. Lets just say Ygor won by a long shot. Me and 10 other people standing at the end. So me and my compatriots march over to the nearest bar where we try and find out who would have won amongst us... I stay for the next 9 rounds of drinks (Doug tells me that it was over $120 in drinks for each person) and then decide to get some sleep before playing games all day the next day So i run up the stairs to Joanna's room and crash in a bed there. Lets just say I was allergic to something in that room and was snoring loudly enough to keep joanna up and wake up the baby as well. Funny pictures ensue as they try and wake me up. So i end up sleeping in the car.
Day two later folks.
