Dragon

She stood there and watched as the dragon flew away
flew away with a fae
"but dragons eat fae" she thought to herself
as she wiped the tears from her eyes
she watched him through this trial
and felt the sides of her heart rip further apart
and then...

the dragon flew away from the fae
the fae who was falling from heartbreak
and she felt both deserved this, this pain
let them know how i felt, she growled
and the fae moved on--in a sense
and the dragon drifted back to his first mate
but his first mate was still bleeding, still healing
but her heart was still focused on him

he circled where she stood
on that high mountaintop
and waited for the signal
that he could come close
that they could start again
that he could make up for that terrible mistake
that they could become one.

as he circled, she saw stitches
not unlike her own
they had yet to fall out completely
not unlike her own
the time will come when they will all fall out
and their love might start where it left off
this time is unknown
but do not fear...
