Wank

Fucking hell. I can't believe I'm still stuck here in Liverpool. My M.E. is so bad at the moment, I just can't get out of bed. It's been like this for far too long. I just want to be well enough to get my stuff together and get back to my flat in Manchester. I miss my boyfriend, my friends, my flat; everything. I am so sick of feeling sick. I really tried to get back again today, but I couldn't.

Over the last couple of weeks, the one evening I had a tiny bit of energy, I decided to go to Liverpool's Capital of Culture (you at the back, stop laughing) opening ceremony at St George's Hall. I only went to see The Wombats, who were amazing, but they only did one song. The majority of it was pretentious toss, like an enormous kids' nativity play. And that new Ringo Starr song... christy. They should've just let The Wombats perform their entire album next to a catherine wheel. It would've saved millions of Scouse pounds and arguably been far more entertaining. After that, Mum and I went to the Cavern pub and listened to a very good covers band while I reminded myself why I can't stand alcohol. I'm fairly sure it is my least favourite recreational drug out of the many I have taken. Other drugs have landed me in hospital or made me think I was a beetle for several hours, but I still dislike alcohol the most. If I wanted pay for the privilege of feeling depressed and sick for an entire night, I would invest in Phil Collins' back catalogue. Vile.

Deathy death death.

*EDIT* Here are Ringo's lyrics for you to laugh at:

Ringo Starr Lyrics - Liverpool 8

I was a sailor first, I sailed the sea
Then I got a job, in a factory
Played Butlin’s Camp with my friend, Rory
It was good for him, it was great for me

Livepool I left you, said goodbye to Madryn Street
I always followed my heart, and I never missed a beat
Destiny was calling, I just couldn’t stick around
Liverpool I left you, but I never let you down

Went to Hamburg, the red lights were on
With George and Paul, and my friend John
We rocked all night, we all looked tough
We didn’t have much, but we had enough

Livepool I left you, said ‘goodbye’ to Madryn Street
I always followed my heart, and I never missed a beat
Destiny was calling, I just couldn’t stick around
Liverpool I left you, but I never let you down

In the U.S.A, when we played Shea
We were number 1, and it was fun
When I look back, it sure was cool
For those 4 boys from Liverpool

Livepool I left you, said goodbye to Admiral Grove
I always followed my heart, so I took it on the road
Destiny was calling, I just couldn’t stick around
Liverpool I left you, but I never let you down

La la la la la la... Liverpool...

cfs, music, drugs, m.e., capital of culture
